Surgery Canceled

A secondary x-ray shows that Jack had an over inflated left lung and a dark shadow on his right lung. After a scope, it was determined that the dark shadow was a mucus plug which required a bit of work to break up and remove. The plug was sent to a lab to be tested and will be treated accordingly.

Once the plug origin is treated, the surgery will be rescheduled.

At this point, Jack is on strict flu restriction. You will require a flu shot and can not come to see Jack if you are not feeling 100%. This also includes if you just have allergies. We will also not have any visitors who are of school age.

I’m sorry if this sounds a little controlling but this is the second canceled surgery in one year and we have too keep Jack as healthy possible this winter since he will no longer be getting the RSV vaccine. I know all of Jack’s supporters will understand.

I will have another update once Jack is in recovery.
